Home Mountain: Mount Snow
I sometimes wonder what I love about ski season more, the skiing or - the Après’ both equally important to me. A couple of years ago my boyfriend and I discovered this place right on route 100 in West Dover, VT directly across from the Mount Snow main mountain called "The Lodge" this place has a real throw back feeling to the past skiing wonder years, with it's circular room, spectacular views, comfy fireside couches, and massive fire place. The view can’t be beat; at night you can see the groomers hard at work on the mountain and all the skiers leaving the mountain heading towards their next destinations. The friendly bartenders, great drink prices, and free weekend snacks make the whole atmosphere a perfect late afternoon! You never know who is going to be playing up on the mini stage; it some times seems to me it's just a bunch of talented musical locals throwing down some innovative original stuff and also well known favorites. The Lodge is sort of known as a local’s hangout, so you don’t get big rowdy crowds; however it’s far from deads-ville. So if you are looking for a little of the off-the-beaten-path atmosphere, with a great old school feeling of skiing, my recommendation would be “The Lodge”.
